Baston Woodland, our Managing Partner, leads the Commercial and Corporate Law Department while also heading the Litigation Division. Specializing in corporate law, tax law, and commercial litigation, Baston offers invaluable counsel to clients.

As a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Commissioner for Oaths, and Notary Public, Baston brings a wealth of legal expertise to the table. He holds a Master’s Degree in Tax and Customs Administration from the Kenya School of Revenue Administration and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology and Agriculture (JKUAT), along with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

Baston actively contributes to professional tax and business registration committees, shaping legislative reforms and streamlining business registration processes. He is a distinguished member of the Tax Liaison Committee, operating under the Law Society of Kenya, where he engages with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the National Treasury to foster strategic partnerships and drive legislative reforms.

His contributions have been instrumental in shaping and amending various Finance Bills, addressing pertinent business challenges.
